SpliX and Samsung CLP510N - old Bug from 2011 still makes problems?
Hello,
I actually installed printserver based on a raspberry due to printing driver issues using Win10 and the old (but good) Samsung CLP510N Color Laser printer. By installing I discovered a problem with Splix 2.0.0, wich doesn't works out of the box with the printer. Problem seems to exist since before 2011 but is not fixed in actual version for debian / raspian repository->
CUPS-Error: " SpliX Cannot open CMS file /usr/share/cups/model/samsung/cms/CLP-510cms"
Solution can be found here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/splix/+bug/714259 by Till Kamppeter wrote on 2011-02-21 (#13)
There seems to be a small error in the ppd-file for the CLP-510 printe. Maybe you could fix it for others before running in the same problems .
Solution (also works for me)
Replace :
*cupsFilter: "application/vnd.cups-postscript 0 pstoqpdl"
by
*cupsFilter: "application/vnd.cups-raster 0 rastertoqpdl"
Maybe same solution can be uses for CLP 315 and CLP500 (for example described here https://forums.fedoraforum.org/archive/index.php/t-265236.html )
Hope it helps and best regards
