Have you got 'Squeeze' and 'Wheezy' interchanged?

You have taken a very reasonable route in an attempt to solve your
problem. It is the recommended one. Please read changelog.Debian for,
in particular, cups (1.5.3-2.1) and have a look at the 'USB printer does
not print . . .' section at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems
There is no need to blacklist the usblp module.
