Package: cupsys
Version: 1.0.4-8
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

I have a cupsys installation on a computer in the Intranet
using RFC1918 numbers and having no nameservice. Now the machine
_does_ have a hostname (/etc/myname), for convenience. Unfortunately
cupsys insists on placing that hostname into links eg on the
printer status page, which doesn't resolve, and thus makes it
difficult to get at the "real" pages (requriring the user to
click on a broken link, then hand-editing in the location
field to replace the hostname with the IP number :(

There should be some kind of URL (-prefix?) configurable that
will then be taken instead of what the software figures would
be the host name.

Best Regards,

As per decision of the CUPS maintenance team, we are hereby closing
bugs concerning releases 1.0, as they are dating back from over 6
years.

Since then, CUPS has evolved into 1.1 and 1.2 generations, so we feel
that the issue reported simply cannot be addressed anymore.

Feel free to reopen this bug if you feel that it was closed in error
and explain why.
