Package: cupsys Version: 1.2.11-1 Severity: important Until today, I could print with this setup: workstation (amd64, Debian unstable) - no printer attached server (i386, Debian Etch) - Epson Stylus 660 printer on lp0 (cupsys 1.2.7-4 ) The CUPS http interface reports: Description: Epson Location: garfield Make and Model: Epson Stylus Color 660 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.0.0 Printer State: idle, accepting jobs, published. Device URI: epson:/dev/lp0 ipp://garfield.codehelp:631/printers/Epson I can print files locally on the server using 'lp $file'. I can print test files from the cups interface. As of todays update, I can no longer print any documents from the workstation. I've tried sylpheed, gedit, OOo-writer and glabels. I also cannot print a test page from the gnome-cups-manager on the workstation. All attempts to print produce only one result: The print dialog reports: Epson garfield /usr/lib/cups/backend/ipp failed The print job list reports: sylpheed job #4 47 neil 81.0K Stopped: job-stopped Yet the CUPS interface shows no jobs. The error log on the server reports no jobs since #36. On the workstation, /var/log/cups/error_log contains: E [15/May/2007:07:39:55 +0100] PID 31282 (/usr/lib/cups/backend/ipp) stopped with status 22! Downgrading the workstation to cupsys and cupsys-common from testing (1.2.7-4) solves the problem completely and without any other changes.
