You are right it's gimp-print (/usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/print).

Set a new printer in gimp-print and select a compressed ppd file (for example: /usr/share/ppd/gutenprint/5.0/en/stp-bjc-2010.5.0.ppd.gz). When you validate the printer, gimp-print crashes.
