So you are saying, without buying that special plain paper the printout
quality will always be lower compared to other printers? If that is the
case, we can close the bug report.

If selecting the PIXMA paper type in the printer driver should be
sufficient for print quality similar to other printers we are not quite
there, and the bug report should remain open.
