Thanks. The issue was raised at
https://lists.debian.org/debian-powerpc/2021/02/msg00011.html.

It looks like the debian-installer folks are getting ready to provide
a new release of the installer
(https://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/). Hopefully they will
take the feedback and address the issue before the next release of the
installer.
