Or 'cp' to /target, and then mount /target from the VM host.
Attached is the syslog from attempting to install in a QEMU VM
(similar to David's); GRUB fails to install for me as well. This is
with Mark's OpenBIOS.
Self-compiler qemu 4.2.0 started with:
