That precisely states you did not install it...

shouldn't firmware-misc-nonfree do it, without installing additional stuff, like intel and amd packages which I do not need on my iBook?

If I remove firmware-misc-nonfree, then... I get this in dmesg:
[ 13.667239] airport: Physical address 80030000
[ 15.205908] airport 0.00030000:radio: Hardware identity 0005:0001:0001:0002 [ 15.206605] airport 0.00030000:radio: Station identity 001f:0001:0008:0046 [ 15.206925] airport 0.00030000:radio: Firmware determined as Lucent/Agere 8.70

network not wokring anyway, So it says it has firmware 8.7 now. I suppose removing the package is the same as "renaming" the file

apt-get install tells me
The following additional packages will be installed:
  firmware-amd-graphics firmware-misc-nonfree

isn't it fine to just install firmware-misc-nonfree ?

Anyway, it seems that with or without... I get no WiFI :(
