I am running on a 8231-E1C, so not very different.

...
processor : 23
cpu : POWER7 (architected), altivec supported
clock : 3720.000000MHz
revision : 2.3 (pvr 003f 0203)

timebase : 512000000
platform : pSeries
model : IBM,8231-E1C
machine : CHRP IBM,8231-E1C

Hmm, I am still running 3.2 kernel. I wonder if i would see a different
result after upgrading to 3.16 on the host.

I could probably use kvm to boot a VM with the 3.16 kernel to try that.
