My PowerMac G5 worked fine with Wheezy.  It’s just when I tried loading Jessie on it that I started to have problems.  The only thing that worked was the “nomodeset” option.

I’m afraid we have to face facts.  The old Mac powerpc machines we love just aren’t common enough or sexy enough to attract the developer attention needed to keep bugs from creeping in.  Sooner or later, one of those bugs will be fatal and powerpc will go the way of ia64 (“itanium”)…   /-:
