Sometimes after a period of inactivity or after I dim my screen until
it's completely black I need to press brightness buttons several times,
both up and down until the screen responds and the brightness is
restored.
This happens infrequently on my 10" iBook G4 1.33GHz with
ATI M11 NV [FireGL Mobility T2e].
Not sure whether this is related to your problem.
