Yes, I saw it and it is your opinion.  Do you find the changes in
the new upstream release intrusive?

There has not been any new messages in this thread since October.
How do you expect anyone to see the "I'm working on the solution" part?
Can you post a status update on #572869?  The last one is from July.

Given some time passed and no other messages from you came, I decided
to give it a go and I also come up with fixes which I also did not
share yet, at least for the machines I have access to.  Perhaps we
can work together?

I am fully aware of that.  However, I trust that this last upstream
release is used in Fedora for POWER machines and in Gentoo to some
less extent.  If it really is a problem, we can downgrade the package
in Sid.
