Re: Network-manager issues.

I just sent a bug report about it.

Thanks Herminio, I have had this problem before while using Debian and fixed the problem by copying the etc/network/interfaces file from a computer running SimplyMEPIS version 6.0 i386, just yesterday I had the same problem with a new install of Skolelinux RC1 and copied the interfaces file from a Deb Sid install. It seems you can repair a bad interfaces file by replacing it with any kind of good/working Debian or Ubuntu interfaces file, PPC or i386 don't seem matter. Your friend.

network-manager runs nicely on my powerbook G4. Could you file a bug report
about this so we can nicely track it down ?

I have same problem with my iMAC G3, I reported it(04/02/2007 06:25 AM) while Etch was in testing and I have been living with the problem(*bad* /network/interfaces config), I too wish it was fixed. :-)
I couldn't find a bugreport on either network-manager or dhcdbd relating to
this. Where did you report this ? or if i just missed it, what's the bug number :)

Oh and please, next time. Change the Subject line and send a new mail instead
of replying to an unrelated one, so you don't confuse threaded mail readers and
people using them :)
I make this post, on other list the developers read my post and decide if bug report is needed and they make bug report, if this is not the case with Debian and seems to be, I will make no more noise.

The weekly build "18-Mar-2007 03:20 648M" PPC KDE iso did not install the KDE Desktop, I installed it using Synaptic and the Network Manager said my "eth0" was active but it was not, I had to Disable and then Enable the Interface, I'm still installing software and have not yet rebooted and will let you know if I find more problems.

Even after reboot I still have to Disable and then Enable the eth0 to
get a connection, anybody know how I can fix this?
