gpm leaves trails over console

Hello,

Does anyone else have this issue?  I just installed gpm on my
PowerBook5,4.  It seems to work fine (including the button and dragging)
but there are two problems:

* The mouse pointer is a black square (makes it hard to see).
* A trail of black characters is left wherever the mouse goes.  The only
way to remove is to highlight the whole affected area of the screen and
read it in it's inverted state.

I'm using the radeon framebuffer in 2.6.9.  It happens at the normal
resolution and 640x400.

Does anyone else have these problems?
