You could have used the plain d-i businesscard iso, in rescue mode, i think.

notice that the link should have been create automatically for you, so make
sure you have an uptodate /etc/kernel-img.conf. Mine is :
# Do not create symbolic links in /
do_symlinks = yes
relative_links = yes
do_bootloader = no
do_bootfloppy = no
do_initrd = yes
link_in_boot = yes
