The minimal install is around 900MB, however i managed to get this
down to around 700MB by totally stripping the system down, deleted the
i*-apps, man pages, emacs, info pages, /usr/share/doc/ and so on as
well as any font that contained a superset of ISO-8859-1.

I recommend around 1.2GB, thats what i've been using, however that
space will be usable for nothing else but the OS and a few
applications, but good if you like me newer use it except perhaps for
the occasional firmware upgrade.
