No, the parents are legimate processes (mozilla and ogg123). They
just fork (or start a new thread). With mozilla, you can see a
process tree here:

The problem occurs here with kernel 2.4.18 (and is 100% reproducible),
but I didn't notice it with kernel 2.4.25. That's why I'm thinking it
is a kernel problem, but this may be a coincidence.

I'd like to know if I should report a bug against the 2.4.18 kernel
image or if I should reopen bug 235538 (/usr/bin/ogg123: ogg123
leaves zombies when playing several files) that I probably closed
too early.
