Hi,
And thanks for your answer:

No: But 2.4.25 doesn't have this config option, AFAICS.
I'guess it has something to do with PCMCIA kernel settings here, which I
have enabled in 2.4.25. (?)
If I grep the 2.4 sources:
[excerpt:]
../2.4-benh-kernel/include/asm-arm/arch-ebsa110/hard
ware.h: * f00007c0 - f00007c1 3e0 - 3e1 pcmcia
I'm not sure if this important, but if it means that I have stuff for
arm compiled in then I'd believe something went ugly wrong with the
compile ... :)
In either case, a more verbose output from
/var/log/kern.log [excerpt]:
kernel: Core driver edition 01.06 : PowerMac Built-in Soun
d driver edition 00.07
kernel: Write will use 4 fragments of 32768 bytes as

No PCMCIA Cards plugged in, except an airport card which, AFAICS, is not
in the PCMCIA slot, but in a slot only accessible after opening
machine.
