$ cat /etc/sysctl.conf
# /etc/sysctl.conf - Configuration file for setting system variables

dev/mac_hid/mouse_button_emulation = 1
dev/mac_hid/mouse_button2_keycode = 87 # placed on <F11>
dev/mac_hid/mouse_button3_keycode = 88 # placed on <F12>

After editing sysctl.conf run

$ sysctl -p

and you will find the mousebottons (2|3) on (<F11>|<F12>) ;-)
