*Success* for me too, but for a *15" albook (1,25GHz)* :

Using :

Linux alube 2.6.1-rc1-ben1 #1 Thu Jan 1 21:49:31 CET 2004 ppc GNU/Linux

+ in this order (if I'm not wrong):

 mkdir /sys
modprobe cpufreq_userspace # so, the module must be compiled before...
 echo "sysfs /sys sysfs default 0 0" >>/etc/fstab
 mount sys
 apt-get install powernowd
 /etc/init.d/powernowd restart

1) Low charge :

eric@alube:~$ cat /proc/cpuinfo
processor : 0
cpu : 7457, altivec supported
clock : 765MHz
revision : 1.1 (pvr 8002 0101)
bogomips : 761.85
machine : PowerBook5,2
motherboard : PowerBook5,2 MacRISC3 Power Macintosh
detected as : 287 (PowerBook G4 15")
pmac flags : 0000000a
L2 cache : 512K unified
memory : 768MB
pmac-generation : NewWorld

2) Opening OpenOffice.org + opening *buggy* yelp help with Gnumeric + xine in fullscreen + xlock in OpenGL mode (good charge...isn't it ? ) :

eric@alube:~$ cat /proc/cpuinfo
processor : 0
cpu : 7457, altivec supported
clock : 1249MHz
revision : 1.1 (pvr 8002 0101)
bogomips : 1244.76
machine : PowerBook5,2
motherboard : PowerBook5,2 MacRISC3 Power Macintosh
detected as : 287 (PowerBook G4 15")
pmac flags : 0000000a
L2 cache : 512K unified
memory : 768MB
pmac-generation : NewWorld
eric@alube:~$

Great work Ben !! Thank you very much !

Best regards, eric
