My bad, thought I mentioned that I was running 4.3 from experimental

Shouldn't be; OS X runs just fine in a hot room, although I will look into this

Depth of 8, 16, 24, all affected. Repeated switching of terminals does not help. Turning off UseFBDev leads to BAD display corruption and a hard hang after a few seconds.
