mac on lin

Hi, I currently use debian amoung other linxes on a x86 pc. I have an
old powerpc 7600av with a G3 upgrade. I have heard that it's possible to
run the mac os on linux with the mac on lin software, and to then
upgrade and run OS X. Has anyone done this with debian, on an old world
powerpc? If so does it work, and is it worth the effort? Thanks JY
