Here's the output of my dmesg. I finally got it go to, i needed
modules-init-tools. :)
But, the gdm problem is still there. It fails to load gdm completely.
Also it bombs out on vt switching. When I try to switch from X to VT, it
completely kills the system, and because no one knows the key
combination for magic-sys-rq on ibooks, I can't get through to finding
the real problem. I have CONFIG_VT=y and CONFIG_VT_CONSOLE=y.
With the IDE problem, this gives a problem:
hdparm -c1 -m16 -d1 /dev/hda
However, this seems to be ok:
hdparm -m16 -d1 /dev/hda
hdparm -c1 /dev/hda
