No. Compiled into the kernel.

No, Compiled into the kernel.

Everything was working up to 2.4.19-ben0. Previously it worked out of
the box with hdb=ide-scsi

I have recompiled all the kernels using the same .config file, upgraded
with "make oldconfig" and following the standard building procedures for
kernels.

The only thing which changed is the kernel and as the official
documentation says you have to use "hdb=scsi" so I tryed that on too,
unsuccessfully.
