That depends on the particular Apple keyboard. There are some (ADB) that
were reprogrammable via ADB handler ID to give different keycodes for
left and right keys.

But it seems most (all?) recent keyboards give the same keycode for left
and right. There still is code in the ADB driver to switch the keyboard
to that 'distinctive' mode, but eg. on my TiBook it has no effect.
