Annoying trackpad behaviour in the iBook 2
Dear people,
Some weeks ago, I got myself a new iBook 600 combo and it
works well, but I still have one problem with it, namely, its
trackpad behaviour.
I happen to actually like tapping in the trackpad area for
double clicks and dragging windows. I don't like the "lock"
behaviour, which requires me an extra "click" to "drop the
windows".
But here comes my problem: when I use "trackpad drag", say I
double-tap the title bar of a window, drag it to the desired
position and lift my finger from the trackpad.
After I lift my finger from the trackpad, the mouse cursor is
still kept in the "move mode" for an amount of time, before it
reverts to the "pointing mode", i.e, the window is not
"dropped". During this (short, but annoying) delay, it seems
that the events that I generate in the trackpad are ignored.
I would prefer that the cursor changed from the "move move" to
the "pointing mode" as soon as I lifted my finger from the
trackpad. Is it possible to change this behaviour via software
or is it a limitation of the hardware?
Thanks for any help, Roger...
