It's not clear to me what it means to say that you get sound
in X. Are you running a desktop environment like KDE or GNOME?

This means that the mp3blaster executable is defective -- it
is looking for a library which isn't installed on your system.

You should be very careful when installing packages without
the help from apt. It usually knows better than the
user. Also, *never* force a package to install without one of
its dependencies, unless you really know what you're doing.

It's usually not necessary to reinstall Linux if you have
problems. You can often solve the problems without a
reinstall. It may not be practical, but it is an excellent
learning exercise.
