Ibook 2001 internal microphone

Hello,

i'm searching for a way to become the internal microphone in my Ibook
2001 500MHZ to work
but i't doesn't work

the soundouput works with xmms, mpg123 etc.

when i make a

cat test.wav < /dev/dsp

the following error appears

bash: /dev/dsp: No such device or address

kernel: 2.4.18 directly from kernel.org with modifications and patches
from penguinppc.org
