Debugging OS X from Linux with GDB?

Has anyone here ever run GDB on a Linux machine to do remote debugging in the OS X kernel?

Apple has instructions for how to do remote debugging over ethernet between two OS X machines:

http://www.opensource.apple.com/projects/documentation/howto/html/KEXT_Tutorials/HelloDebugger.html

That would mostly work for me, but I expect to do some extended traveling in June, and would need to use my Linux laptop (which is a pentium III) to run GDB on.

I expect this can be gotten to work, but I would probably need to customize GDB somehow. If anyone has done this sort of thing, I'd appreciate any tips you have.
