hfs+ is a OpenFirmware filesystem, so yaboot doesn't care and will
read it, the problem is the boot-floppies will be unable to read the
drivers.tgz and rescue.bin files which are required to install the
kernel and drivers.

hd:,yaboot sometimes works, depends on the machine and how much OF
likes you.
