Re: PPP (was: Xpmac on Powerbook 1400c)

Well, because there is no pcmcia support i'd like to use a direct ppp link
over a nulmodem to the desktop in lieu of ethernet. However, I can't get the
darn thing to work; it seems the mac won't use flow control. If that much
would work, I think it's possible to get a low speed (56k maybe) connection
over the line, but the signal diffrences between the mac and the pc would
probally not allow 112 or 225bps. Also, again because of the signal difrences
between mac and pc, i'm not sure if it's possible to send data both ways in
a timely matter.

Anyway, I have tried for weeks go get PPP working but the best I could manage
is about 300bps. If anyone is really really sure it's possible to make this
work please let me know because my laptop is 100% useless without some sort
of connection to the outside world.
