If you still have MacOS, try setting your display to some other
resolution under MacOS before rebooting. Also, re. the recent 'headless'
discussion, if you happen to run your box without a monitor attached
(obviously not ;-) or with a broken Mac -> VGA adaptor, you Mac might
detect _no_ monitor attached (or the default fall-back monitor), and
switch to the lower default resolution which is 640x480.

Can't help you here; I don't have a 7200...

Yeah, but 4.0 will only be marginaly faster (if at all) since it really
is a hardware deficency: platinum _is_ unaccelerated, it's only a bare
flat framebuffer. Apple never got 'round to implement any hardware
acceleration in their own chips.
