2 options:

1) burn potato r3 CDs, they will boot correcty.
2) boot the CD manually from OpenFirmware.  note that Apple officially
forbids its users from entering an OpenFirmare prompt ;-)  

if you don't mind ignoring them the command is:

boot cd:,\\yaboot
