XF86Config, debconf and console-tools

I have happily installed Debian on my Powermac 7300/200, using the
boot floppies without a glitch. Everything works perfectly except for
a few issues, which however turn out to be fairly annoying.

1) I installed the Xpmac Rage128 accelerated server, and referred to it
in the first line of /etc/X11/Xserver. It starts, but then dies because he
can't find my fonts. I have no XF86Config file so the paths aren't set.
How can I generate that file? There's no XF86setup I could find
at the FTP sites.

2) debconf refuses to configure (I get a strange error that I couldn't
record because the installation was going too fast, but I'll
try again tomorrow to write it down. It seems to print out a bunch of
letters and numbers and then "Error in line...") so I get a cascade
of configuration errors from packages that depend on it and on
each other: xemacs, exim, modutils, lynx, , dpkg-dev etc. As any one
else seen this? I need my exim and my xemacs21...

3) console-tools starts by asking me if I want to load the same keyboard
as the kernel one, but then doesn't do anything no matter what I type. I have
to kill it with control-C. Maybe this is related to the error in 2?

Thanks,

            Renaud
