On my PowerComputing PowerCenter 132 (604e), I'm running, let's see...

Linux diziet 2.2.12 #2 Sat Aug 21 19:37:37 PDT 1999 ppc unknown

That's 2.2.12pre2. It works fine. The source is from the Vger tree,
I believe. We never got around to compiling the official 2.2.12
release because, as I recall, the official source tree was missing
some PPC-specific code (for some reason some of these patches just
aren't being accepted on a timely basis) and the Vger tree was out of
date with respect to the official tree. Given the amount of time
that's passed, and the impending release of 2.2.13, we might as well
wait.

The only problems we've noticed with this kernel were also present
with 2.2.10 and involve the NFS stuff. Since it (so far) hasn't
caused any major problems (we have partitions mounted from this
machine to a NeXTstation and vice versa), we haven't worried about it
too much.

   C.
