First, your story is very funny -) You have problems with the libc, i had the sames the first time i installed debian on my powerpc. I resolved them installing packages sparingly, being very carefull with libc upgrades, but restarting at the beginning -( Try to unpack the base2_2.tgz again, then remove broken packages. hope it'll help. --------------- Cyrille Lefranc Grenoble France
