Rs/6000

Apologies to interrupt....

The RS/6000 Model 43P-140 IS a PowerPC based system.
How you ask?? attach a graphical console (even a
serial one) and the POWERPC logo appears... go to
the SMS menus, and look at the system info, and yes
it is PowerPC based.

The older RS/6000s (i.e. 2xx, 3xx, 5xx, 9xx, Cxx,
Rxx, Jxx..) are Power2 Based, and currently Linux
does not work on these....

I have gotten the linux kernel (2.x.x) boot on the
rs/6000, but over the network (bootp/tftp)..
unfortunately, have not been able to get the installer
going... still working in this...

BTW, the LinuxPPC v4 release does install on the
43Ps (pre140s anyway)....

G'luck...
