tetex needs recompiling ...

i when trying to use xdvi i got the following :

kpathsea: Running mktexpk --mfmode ljfour --bdpi 600 --mag 1+0/600 --dpi 600
cmtt12
xdvi.bin: error in loading shared libraries: xdvi.bin: symbol popen, version
GLIBC_2.1 not defined in file libc
.so.6 with link time reference
This is dvips(k) 5.82 Copyright 1998 Radical Eye Software (www.radicaleye.com)
	' TeX output 1999.02.23:1357' -> |lpr
	kpathsea: Running mktexpk --mfmode ljfour --bdpi 600 --mag 1+0/600 --dpi
	600 cmr12
	dvips: error in loading shared libraries: dvips: symbol popen, version
	GLIBC_2.1 not defined in file libc.so.6
	with link time reference

Is this because my glibc is to new compared to tetex and i should recompile
said package, or the package in debian/ppc is compiled for glibc2.1 ?

should i bother the tetex maintainer with a bug report for this one ?
