For future reference, you can set (or reset) the author of a commit
with
git commit --author='Salvatore Bonaccorso <carnil@debian.org>'
or
git commit --amend --author='Salvatore Bonaccorso <carnil@debian.org>'
before pushing. Once you've pushed, it's history, though.

Thanks. Policy should probably just say something like
These files can be read using
<tt>dpkg-query --control-show <var>package</var> shlibs</tt>.
