Package: debian-policy Version: 3.8.0.1 Severity: normal Hi, currently, policy §6.3 says that a package can interact with the user in its controlling terminal. However, this contradicts §3.9.1 which requires doing it with debconf. There must be only a handful of remaining packages that still need user interaction, although I’m not even sure. I think it is more than time to make debconf a "must" and to stop guaranteeing the availability of a controlling terminal to packages. Thanks, -- .''`. : :' : We are debian.org. Lower your prices, surrender your code. `. `' We will add your hardware and software distinctiveness to `- our own. Resistance is futile.
