Yes, I'll second that. It makes no sense at all to try to have the
package predict how much memory it will need for the build; this amount
of memory will be different depending on the architecture, the exact
versions of build-dependencies that are in use, and a gazillion other
unpredictable variables.

The only person able to figure out which values are sane and which
values aren't is the person running the build, if only by trial and
error. The best anyone else can do is an educated guess, which is not
something I would like in my packages.
