Subject: Please ship a tarball instead of unpacked sources in /usr/src/modules/

Package: i2c-source
Version: 2.5.0-4
Severity: wishlist

The following packages provide sources for kernel modules:

 ibcs-source-2.0
 ibcs-source-2.2
 alsa-source
 userlink-source
 pcmcia-source
 device3dfx-source
 cipe-source
 tpctl-modules-source

all of them ship tarballs in /usr/src/ which unpack to modules/foo

i2c-source on the other hand ships unpacked sources in
/usr/src/modules/i2c. For uniformity's sake I think it would be nice
if i2c-source did the same as the previously mentioned packages. The
other packages that do like i2c-source are lm-sensors-source and
ftape-source. I'm filing a bug against the packages in the smallest
group, even if my personal preference favours unpacked sources.

 Thanks,

                                   Marcelo
