Then simply do

  dpkg --instdir=/opt/kde --install $ALLMYKDEPACKAGES

or set this option in apt.conf and make a symlink from /opt/kde/usr to
/opt/kde. This way you will have all your KDE binaries in /opt/kde/bin,
noone will complain about that and you have your beloved /opt directory
in use ;-)
