Hrm.  I'm starting to think I should mandate VT100 (or VT220/320/420/520)
support.

That may be the case at present, for all I know, but I do not expect it to
remain so.

That does not, in my opinion, meet a reasonable user's expectations of
something called "x-terminal-emulator".
