Noticing something I missed when I sent this - this doesn't mention that
it's the GPL, nor does it say where to get it besides ``the source''. Is
that a violation of the GPL?

That seems to imply to me that, according to official GNU software,
Referencing the source on a system where it's assumed to be available
counts as NOT violating the GPL.

Just a thought, if a wildly inaccurate one.
