        I am not sure that merely postponing the transition is likely
 to enable us to come to a conesnsus on a ``really good
 scheme''. Chances are, that this shall be dropped in favour of other
 release critical issues, and we shall be back in woody development,
 with no tnagible changes. (Look at what happened to the archive reorg
 debates -- the pool of packages and staging area proposals).

        In my opinion (looking back that the libc5, libc6 moves, and
 looking at the growing number of packages), that is unjustifiable
 optimism. I don't think we can indeed move all packages in one
 release interval.

        I thik at least one release shall have to be done in a
 transition state. Frankly, I thik we should be able to handle it.

        Again, IMHO, that is not practical.
