This has been discussed before.  In fact, I brought it up myself about
a year ago.  I'm working on a solution, one that simply ignores the
modified-.orig.tar.gz problem.  The main script for it is finished,
but other scripts will have to be modified to cope with multiple
source versions in one distribution.
