[forward] FHS pre-2.1 draft #3 on web site

FYI

I am getting very close to an FHS 2.1 release. Is the current draft
something Debian can use as it stands?

This draft includes the recently discussed additions to /opt.

Added to /opt:

+ Distributions may install software in /opt, but should not
+ modify or delete software installed by the local system administrator
+ without the assent of the local system administrator.

Added to the /opt rationale:

+ The minor restrictions on distributions using /opt are necessary
+ because conflicts are possible between distribution-installed and
+ locally-installed software, especially in the case of fixed pathnames
+ found in some binary software.

You might want to download and read the entire text if you haven't yet
read one of the FHS 2.1 pre-drafts.
