d) would be completely against everything in dpkg's docs about mucking
   with the internal database in programs and scripts directly (or at all
   for that matter)
e) pointless if the package maintainer does not move change the next
   version of the package to use /usr/share/doc
f) probably one of the most workable solutions suggested so far...  =D
